What do I have to do to get my Tennessee real estate license?
Well, it’s pretty straightforward! You’ll need to complete a 60-hour class and a 30-hour class, both of which are offered by TREA, and then pass the state exam. Once you’ve completed those steps, you’ll be a licensed real estate agent in Tennessee. We’re here to help you every step of the way!
How soon can I get my license?
With our on-demand home study course, you can start right away and complete the 90 hours of coursework in as little as four weeks. Course materials and lessons are provided online for your convenience. For our in-person class, the schedule depends on availability, but your enrollment includes 12 months of access to our online course materials, so you can prepare ahead of time. Our students who take advantage of the online materials before class starts tend to perform better in the course overall.
How much time should I spend studying outside of class, for the in-person or Webinar course?
For optimal learning, I recommend dedicating 40 to 60 hours of study outside of class. However, the amount of time you spend studying really depends on your personal learning style. While some students prefer to take notes during class, I believe that the best way to learn is to absorb the material during class and then study at home. As your instructor, my goal is to explain important concepts so that you can better understand the material and ace your exams!
What are the requirements for a license?
To obtain a license, you must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must also pass a criminal background check, and depending on the nature of any previous felony convictions, you may be eligible for a license. In addition, you must have E&O insurance and complete a 60-hour and a 30-hour class. We’re here to help answer any questions you have, so don’t hesitate to give us a call!
Do I need to be fingerprinted to get my license?
In order to get your license in the state of Tennessee, you must be fingerprinted. Luckily, it’s a quick and painless process, and IdentoGO is the company who does the fingerprinting. IdentoGO charges a fee for this (see identogo.com for the current amount), and they’ll send your fingerprints for the required state and FBI background check. Plus, it’s all done by computer, so you won’t even get the black stuff on your hands anymore!
